The Men's Alliance for Strength and Support, or MASS, is a local campaign in Northern Nevada that encourages men to take action and be leaders in the prevention of sexual and domestic violence. Violence in our community can only be reduced through education and action, and we are encouraging men to do both.
Why is MASS here?
Studies have shown that most men are concerned about sexual and domestic violence, but are not always comfortable talking about it with other men. Men also feel very uncomfortable working with rape crisis centers for fear that they may be accused or unfairly demeaned by "radical feminists".
For many years, men have been concerned about their daughters, wives, friends, and associates becoming victims of sexual violence. However, there have not been many prevention methods available to men. MASS is here to provide men with actual methods of preventing sexual violence in their surroundings so that they can create a safer environment for the ones they love. If nothing else, we want you to know that you can do something and we can help you find your place in sexual violence prevention.
